Is the sound on your Samsung TV muting randomly? Fortunately, you can fix this no-audio issue in a few different ways. This wikiHow article lists how to fix the no sound issue on Samsung TVs.

Fixing No Sound on Your Samsung TV

Unplug your Samsung TV from power, then plug it back in.
Check for updates in Settings > Support > Software Update.
Run a sound test in Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Sound Test.
Reset your sound settings in Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Reset Sound.
Test your HDMI cable in Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test.
Try switching to a different external speaker.

Power cycle your Samsung TV.

Check the volume.

The TV may have been accidentally muted. Some sound bars have soft-touch buttons that are easy to brush against and turn off, so check any external sound devices, too. If the Volume Up button on your remote doesn't work, go to Settings on your TV and navigate to Sound > Sound Output > TV Speaker/(external device).^{[2]

Test the HDMI cable.

A bad HDMI cable can lose audio information, which mutes your TV. If you're using an HDMI cable to connect to a sound device, make sure the TV's input is set to the connected HDMI port, then go to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test.^{[5]

Disconnect & reconnect external speakers.

Loose connections can cause the no sound issue. While unplugging everything, check to ensure that any cables connecting to your externals are undamaged. Try plugging the cables into different ports if you can, as the original port may be damaged.
- If you notice that the audio loss doesn't happen in one port, but it does in another, contact Samsung's support for a repair.

Use a different external speaker.

If you don't see an HDMI or sound issue from the self-diagnostic tests, and you updated your TV and reset it but still have sound issues, try using a different speaker. Some external speakers will turn off if they have a weak signal, which will cause your audio to drop, so use a new external speaker.^{[6]
