Are you trying to become a VIP in Grand Theft Auto 5 Online? Becoming a VIP is pretty simple—the only prerequisite is to have $50,000 in your bank account. In this article we'll teach you how you can become a VIP, go over some VIP perks, and offer some reasons why the game isn't letting you become a VIP.

Things You Should Know

• You must have $50,000 before becoming a VIP, which can be obtained easily by doing almost any activity in the game.
• Once you have the cash, open the SecureServ menu and select "Become a VIP" to register an organization and instantly become a VIP.
• VIP status lasts for four real-time hours, after which you'll be on a 12-hour VIP status cooldown.

   Get at least $50,000 in your bank account. The only prerequisite to becoming a VIP in GTA Online is for you to get $50,000 in your bank. You can get $50,000 pretty easily by doing almost any activity in the game, such as winning street races, stealing and reselling cars, playing the casino, robbing ATMs, or more.

   Open the interaction menu. Press M to do this on PC, the touchpad on your controller to do this on the Playstation, and the View button on your controller to do this on the Xbox.

   Scroll down and select "SecuroServ" > "Register as a VIP." The SecuroServ option will likely not be on the screen when you open the menu, so you'll have to scroll a bit to locate it.

   Enter an organization name. Organizations can have a maximum name length of 15 characters. Once you've entered your desired organization name, press the Done button. You will automatically become a VIP in your GTA Online session.

VIP Perks

   VIPs have access to a few special perks. VIP status lasts for four real-time hours, but once your VIP status expires you'll be placed in a 12-hour cooldown before you can become VIP again. VIP perks are explained below:

   • VIPs can rename their organization, set the clothing style for each member, and enable or disable friendly fire.
   • VIPs can access VIP Work, which can be completed for cash and RP rewards.
   • VIPs can hire up to 3 bodyguards or associates to protect themselves. VIPs can get armor, ammunition, and vehicles for their bodyguards.
   • VIPs can also do VIP Challenges with their bodyguards/associates for cash or RP.
   • VIPs can turn on the Ghost Organization feature to hide their bodyguards from the map.

   There are a few reasons you might not be able to become a VIP. These reasons are as follows:

   • You don't have $50,000 in your bank account.
   • You have been a VIP within the last 12 real-life hours, and are still on a cooldown.
   • Your GTA Online freemode session may have too many VIPs or CEOs already. Each session can only have 10 VIPs or CEOs at a time.
