How can I search for a friend on Instagram?

Do this on the mobile app, official website, BlueStacks or any Instagram web viewer. On the mobile app and BlueStacks, click the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen and type in their name or Instagram handle. On the official site, there is a search bar at the top of the screen where you can type in their Instagram username or name. On most web viewers, you should be able to search for friends by locating a magnifying glass or search bar at the edges of the screen.

I downloaded the app, why can't I sign up?

You can't sign up on BlueStacks as Instagram will display an error about your internet proxy. You need to download the official app on your mobile device to sign up, but if you are unable to do that you can download the app InstaPic, available on Windows 8 computers and up. On some computers if you visit the Instagram website it will allow you to sign up there.
