Try to get your attitude in a good place first. If you have a good mindset in place, you're more likely to have a productive conversation. Also, be sure to enter the conversation with healthy expectations—some peoples' faith beliefs are very strong, so it's not a great idea to enter a conversation to change anyone's mind. Instead, focus on sharing your thoughts authentically and respectfully.

I would try to be on your best behavior and earn their trust. They will eventually trust you to do things by yourself and/or do things you want, like buying things (within reason) and going out.
