Mix baking soda with water and apply it to your grill grates with a soft brush. Then run your grill on medium-high heat so the baking soda dissolves the rust. Wipe your grates clean right after.

You can spray Goo Gone's Grill and Grate Cleaner directly onto the grill top when the grill is off and cool. After several minutes, wipe off with a damp cloth. You can use a grill brush to loosen excess build-up.
  • Question
How do I clean the outside of the grill? Mine is all stainless.

    Community Answer
Windex, dishwashing liquid, or oven cleaner if you've somehow gotten all sorts of smoke soot. Scrub as needed in the direction of the brushed finish with a plastic sink scrubby or brush. Never use steel wool products or anything that can leave residue or cause rust or you'll ruin the stainless and need to rub the whole thing down with aluminum foil to redeposit chromium.
  • Question
What can I use besides a steel brush?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
A brass brush or a paint scraper work, though, I find oven cleaner to be best, especially if the grills are removed and soaked in the stuff using aluminum foil as a soaking tray. This will usually get them back to brand new, but they may need to be soaked and stiff brushed a few times for the initial heavy cleaning. After that you can spray them in place after use and maintain the newness quite easily.
  • Question
I'm assuming I put the baking soda and vinegar solution in water. If so, how much water?
    Community Answer

You do not use any water, just vinegar and baking soda and leave it to soak overnight. If really dirty, repeat the process. I double bag the grates to help hold the solution.
