Certified Dog Behavior ConsultantIf a pet is nervous, give them time to become accustomed to you at their own pace. Toss treats to the animal so that they don't have to come close to you. This allows them to form a positive association with you from a distance where they're comfortable. They'll come up to you when they're ready. Always wait for them to approach you, as forcing interactions will make the situation worse. -
