Step-by-step guide to creating a portal with the Twilight Forest mod
PDF download Download Article

If you have the Twilight Forest mod on Minecraft, you can easily make a portal to get into the forest. You'll just need to dig a hole, place some water and flowers, and throw in a diamond. Here's how to make a Twilight Forest Portal in modded Minecraft: Java Edition.

Things You Should Know

  • To make a Twilight Forest Portal, make a 2x2 hole and add water source blocks. Place flowers or mushrooms around the hole.
  • Throw a diamond into the hole. Lightning will strike and turn the water into a portal.
  • You must have the Twilight Forest mod for Minecraft: Java Edition.
  1. It must be surrounded by Dirt, Coarse Dirt, Grass, Podzol, or Mycelium blocks to work. This hole can be made in any biome, day or night.[1]
    • Twilight Forest Portals are only available with the Twilight Forest mod on Minecraft: Java Edition. This won't work on regular Minecraft.
  2. You can make the portal over any type of block, but there must be blocks underneath the water source blocks.

  3. Every block on the edge of the hole must have either to work.
  4. Throw a diamond in the hole. This will make lightning strike the water and turn it into a Twilight Forest Portal.
    • If it doesn't work, make sure the day and night cycle is active. You can use the command /gamerule doDaylightCycle true to make sure it's turned on.
    • If you have the Embers Rekindled mod installed, you'll need to throw in a Glimmer Crystal instead of a diamond.
