This wikiHow teaches you how to request a refund from Uber if you were wrongly charged a cancellation fee. Uber’s policy is to charge $5 to $10 if a trip is canceled 5 or more minutes after a reservation is made, however, they may waive the fee if you are not at fault.

- If you are not already signed in to your Uber account, sign in now.

Tap I was incorrectly charged a cancellation fee.

Select a reason for cancellation. Choose from one of the following options:[1]

- My pickup location was incorrect
- My driver cancelled
- The ETA was too long
- The ETA was too short
- My driver asked me to cancel

Tap Submit. Uber will review your request and get back to you within a few days.
- Submitting a claim does not guarantee that the fee will be refunded.

Select a trip from the list.
- If you are not already signed in to your Uber account, first click Sign In To Get Help and enter your account information. Then you will see a list of your trips.[2]
