So...I haven't cleaned my weighted blanket since I bought it. It's starting to look dirty now, so I want to clean it, but idk if it's too heavy or bulky to put in my washer and dryer and if it could ruin the machines. Do I have to clean this thing by hand, or what is the best way to do it?

Starting off the new year in a really rotten way: for the last week and a half I've been seeing more and more carpenter ants in my house, and it's driving me up the wall! Anyone know where they come from, what kind of harm they're capable of, and most importantly how to get rid of them???? You'd have my eternal gratitude

I’ll keep this short. I’m already stressed out enough, I don’t need to belabor the point. Carpet beetles. How do I get rid of them? I’d like to do it myself because I’m on a bit of a budget, and I’d prefer natural options if they exist, but I need these things gone yesterday.

So...it's *that* time of the month for me, but I noticed too late and got blood stains on my favorite pair of pants. It's still a fresh stain so I want to act real quick to make sure the stain doesn't set in and ruin my clothes. Are there any DIY solutions I could use? Any tips for getting dried blood out of clothes are also appreciated (just in case).

I need eggs for a recipe, the ones in my fridge have been there have been there for I don't even know how long. It looks like I'm only a little bit past the "best by" date, but I don't want to risk using bad eggs and getting sick from it. Is there any way to check an egg without cracking it open? About how long are eggs really good for?

I love my suede shoes and wear them everywhere, but I recently noticed that they're looking a little dingy and have a couple small stains on them. I've heard that washing them or using water is a big no-no, but I don't know what I can use then. What are my options to make my shoes look like new?

I noticed two moths in my closet last week. I killed them because I don’t want them chewing on my clothes, but now I’m noticing more and more moths in my bedroom and on my clothes. I have no idea if I have an infestation or what. I didn’t even know moths traveled in packs like that. How do I get rid of the moths in my house? Please help me out here.

Ugh ugh ugh, I just moved into an older building recently and noticed a lot of those gross silverfish bugs crawling all over the place. Like, I know they're not going to hurt me or do anything, but I'm still getting an icky feeling knowing that they're in my home. I just want them gone as fast as possible so I don't have to deal with them anymore. Any tips to make my place silverfish-free for good?

Easiest way to fix a clogged sink?

My roommate did something to clog up the kitchen sink, and we just can’t get it to drain like normal. I tried running hot water and running the garbage disposal, but nothing seems to help. It is draining slowly, but it takes like 24 hours to fully drain if there’s even a few inches of water. What else can I try? I really don’t want to reach out to the landlord over something so mundane.

How to get gum out of my clothing

I’m going to keep it short. My child loves gum. My child is not good at disposing of gum. I’ve got gum in my shirt and jeans for what feels like the fourth time this year. Is there a lifehack for getting gums out of fabric? And please don’t tell me “stop giving your child gum.” I’ve already gone this route and they just seem to keep getting their hands on it despite my best efforts.
