Water won't drain from sink with garbage disposal

The garbage disposal works, but the water won't drain from the sink. When I take off the u-shape pipe, the water drains; and when I put it back on, the water backs up again. I checked the drainage pipe that extends beyond ghe u-shape pipe, and there were no cloggs in the pipe. I don't know how a pipe gets clogged since the garbage disposal chops materials up into little pieces.

Silly question, did you clear out the U-trap you're removing? A trap stoppage seems like the only sensible answer. Any way to upload a photo? That surely would help.

Easiest way to fix a clogged sink?
My roommate did something to clog up the kitchen sink, and we just can’t get it to drain like normal. I tried running hot water and running the garbage disposal, but nothing seems to help. It is draining slowly, but it takes like 24 hours to fully drain if there’s even a few inches of water. What else can I try? I really don’t want to reach out to the landlord over something so mundane.

I can't call a plumber but my toilet won't unclog. What can I do?
I’m in a rough spot. I have a seriously clogged toilet and I really don’t want my landlord to know. I can't afford a plumber either, so I’m sort of stuck here. I tried a plunger and it didn't work. What can I use to unclog the toilet? I’ve heard that baking soda and vinegar works but I’m worried about the pipes. I can’t afford a service call, let alone serious plumbing work if I make the problem worse. Does anyone have any solutions? I’m seriously freaking out.

How do I get rid of these ANNOYING fruit flies?
Over the past couple weeks my house has become infested with fruit flies and I don't know how to get rid of them! I've tried keeping my kitchen as clean as I can and put out a vinegar trap, but it's not working super well. These flies bother me so much and I feel like I can't live in peace with them around. Please help!

How do you get rid of gnats in your house?
UGH! I've had it with all these pesky gnats flying around my home and I don't want to deal with them anymore. I feel like as soon as I squash one, I find a few more around the house and on my plants. Is there any way to get rid of them once and for all? I'd love to stick to easy natural methods, but I'm not afraid to try stronger chemicals if I have to.

Roaches are ruining my life. How do I get rid of them?!
I recently moved into a new apartment and discovered there are roaches. We're pretty good about keeping tidy but we've gone into clean overdrive since discovering the roaches. But I'm not sure it's working. We see at least a few a week. We are pretty quick to spray them and have set traps up for them. At what point do I call a pro? What else can I do myself?
