I'm so gassy. What are some home remedies to get rid of gas fast?

I don’t know what I could have possibly eaten, but I’ve got the worst gas of my life. I also happen to have a wedding to go to tonight…where I’m the best man…who gives a speech. I’d love to not fart up a storm while I’m up on stage, so does anyone have any tips or tricks? I might have time to run to the store and pick up meds, but I might not. Any advice?

If you're trying to figure out the source, first think about what you ate. For example, a great deal of the population is lactose intolerant, but still consumes dairy and ice cream. It's a good idea to carry things like Rollaids, Tums, Pepto Bismol chews, and other over-the-counter medications. Simethicone can be helpful. You can also try taking digestive enzymes. You can try drinking soothing, warm teas, Mylanta, Milk of Magnesia, and other DIY at-home solutions.

Ugh, I know exactly how you feel. I used to deal with terrible bouts of gas at least once a week. What worked for me was just letting it out. Go to the bathroom and try to make a bowel movement—even if you think you don’t need to. It might help a lot. You can also try lying in a prone position with your buttocks up in the air and just letting whatever happens, happen. If you feel like you can’t “get it out” and your stomach is still rumbling, I’d find a way to get to a pharmacy and pickup any simethicone-based treatment (stuff like Gas-X or Mylanta). Good luck with the speech!

Drinking some liquids might help relieve your gas problem! Non-carbonated beverages like water and herbal tea (especially peppermint or cumin tea) are good options.

Try moving around to stimulate some intestinal movement. Walking, exercising, or maybe even doing yoga might help you release some of that gas.

Yoga works for me! Specifically child's pose, and then rocking and trying out different positions until I hit a pose that helps relieve my gas. Good luck.
