While you can use any font on DaFont for personal projects, the only fonts you can use for commercial projects are Public domain/GPL/OFL or 100% Free fonts. While all the fonts on DaFont are free, some have some restrictions on how they can be used:
- Public domain/GPL/OFL: These fonts can be used for any purpose without needing to purchase a license. These fonts are considered part of the public domain, or they have a GNU General Public License (GPL) or a SIL Open Font License (OFL).
- 100% Free: These fonts can also be used for any purpose without needing to purchase a license, but they're not part of the public domain, nor do they have a GPL or OFL. It's generally a good idea to contact the font creator if you want to use the font for a commercial project.
- Free for personal use: These fonts can be used in any personal projects, but you must purchase a license to use these fonts for commercial projects.
- Donationware: These fonts are free to download, but the font's creator may ask for a donation to use the font commercially or to embed it in a document.
- Shareware: Similar to donationware, shareware fonts can be downloaded for free, but the font's creator may ask for a small licensing fee to use the font commercially or to embed it in a document.
- Demo: These fonts have a very limited character set. If you'd like to unlock all of the characters, you'll need to purchase the font from its creator.
