Don't you wish you could repost some TikTok videos without announcing them to your friends? You're not alone! If you've heard of "silent repost" on TikTok, you are probably wondering how to do it. The truth is, there is no way to silent repost on TikTok, but you can add the video to a "Silent Repost" collection. This tutorial will explain how "silent repost" works on TikTok, from what it means, to how you can boost relatable TikToks without your followers seeing.

Silent Repost on TikTok: How It Works

While you can't really do a silent repost, you can save the video to a collection called "Silent Reposts" and add it to your profile. Tap the bookmark icon on a video, go to "Manage" > "Create a new collection," name it "Silent Reposts," make it public, and then tap "Save."

It's not a TikTok feature, but a thing people comment (either "silent repost" or "#silentrepost") when they think a video is relatable, funny, or sexy, and they wish they could repost it, but they wouldn't want their followers to see it in their feeds.

You can't repost a TikTok without your followers knowing. Even though some TikTokers claim you can do a silent repost, it's not actually possible. But there are a few alternatives!
- The first is to comment "silent repost" or use the hashtag #silentrepost to tell the creator you relate to their post and wish you could repost it. If your goal is to give the creator a little boost, this is the best option!
- The other is to create a collection of favorites called "silent repost" and add the TikToks you wish you could repost to the collection.
  - You can make your silent repost collection public so people can see it on your profile if you'd like—the videos won't show up in your friends' feeds as reposts, but people who check out your profile can see that you appreciate them.
  - If you don't want anyone to see, you can make your collection private.

While this method won't actually repost the video, silently or not, it's a cool way to keep track of all the TikToks you wished you could have reposted, and even add a quick link to them to your profile.
You'll see this at the bottom of the video after tapping the bookmark icon.

Tap Create a new collection. You'll also see any of your existing collections here.
- Later, when you want to add more silent repost videos, you can tap the Silent Repost collection to add it.

Name the collection silent reposts. You can call it whatever you'd like, but this will keep things simple.
- Really, the name doesn’t matter—even if you've seen TikToks telling you that adding videos to a folder called "silent reposts" will repost the video silently, it's (unfortunately) not true.
If you don't want anyone to see the videos you would have reposted, move the toggle switch to the "Off" position. If you don't mind people seeing the videos you wish you could have reposted, move the switch to the "On" position.

Tap Save. This saves your Silent Reposts folder and adds the video you selected.
- To add more TikToks later, tap the bookmark icon, tap Manage, and then tap silent reposts.
- Now people can tap the bookmark icon on your profile to check out your silent reposts collection!
