A simple step-by-step walkthrough to close your Walmart account
PDF download Download Article

Walmart allows you to delete your Walmart account both in the app and over the phone—neither of which take a long time to do. We’ll walk you through both options (along with how to cancel a Walmart+ membership, if you so desire), so you can pull the plug on your Walmart account as soon as possible. Because you'll need the Android or iPhone app to delete your account, you won't be able to use a computer.

Quick Steps

  1. Open the Walmart mobile app.
  2. Tap on the Account icon in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Scroll down and hit Delete Account.
  4. Follow the app’s directions to complete the deletion process.

  1. Hover over the “Account” button in the top-right corner of the screen and click on “Walmart+” from the drop-down menu. Choose “Manage Membership,” followed by “Cancel Membership.” Walmart will give you a “Remind Me Later” option, in which their system shoots you a cancellation reminder 3 days before your Walmart+ membership would be canceled.[1]
  2. Tap the “Account” button in the bottom-right corner of the app. Then, scroll down to the “Subscriptions & plans” section of the page. Tap the “Walmart+” option, and then tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the next screen. Head to the bottom of this page to find the “Cancel membership” option, which sits beneath the “Pause membership” button.
