How to Link Your Xbox Account to Discord for Seamless Voice Chats

Connecting Xbox and Discord makes it easy to chat with friends while you game. Best of all, it’s easy to set up this helpful feature on your own console—and we’re here to show you the ropes. Read on to learn how to get your Discord and Xbox profiles synced up, and, most importantly, how to join voice channels, transfer Discord calls, and stream your games to Discord from your Xbox.

Connect Discord to an Xbox Console: Quick Steps

Press the Xbox button.
Go to Profile & system > Settings > Account.
Select Linked social accounts.
Select Link under "Discord."
Follow the onscreen instructions to finish linking your accounts.

Joining a Voice Call

Hit the Xbox button and cycle over to the tab, which resembles 2 chat bubbles overlapping one another.
This option should sit beneath the “Start a party” option at the top of the menu.
A list of all available servers will appear on the screen.
Once you select your desired voice chat, you’ll automatically be connected and able to chat.
Tap the Xbox button one more time and toggle over to the “Parties & chats” tab again. Then, select “Disconnect” in the “Discord” section of the menu to leave the voice call.^{[2]

Join a Discord call on your phone/tablet or computer. The call needs to be active before you can transfer it to your Xbox.

Transfer the Discord call to your Xbox. The exact process depends if you’re on your phone or computer:
- Phone/tablet:
  - Swipe up.
  - Hit “Join on Xbox.”
  - Wait for the Xbox app to open.
  - Hit “Transfer Audio” in the Xbox app.
- Computer:
  - Right-click on the voice channel you’re in.
  - Click “Join Voice on Xbox” or “Transfer Voice to Xbox.”
  - Scan the QR code that pops up.

Join the voice call on your phone/tablet. Make sure that the call is active and ongoing when you go to transfer the call.
- Check that you have the Xbox app installed. Without the app installed and set up, you won’t be able to transfer your call.
This option will be directly beneath the voice call settings, like the “end call” button.
The Xbox app should open automatically, and this option will be in green.

You can access this tab by hitting the Xbox button and pulling up the Guide menu.
Choose the server you’d like to stream in, as well as the individual voice channel.
If you have a premium Discord membership (Discord Nitro), you’ll have the option to customize your stream quality before going live.

There are a few common reasons why you can't transfer a call to Xbox.
- Remote features are not enabled. If you can't transfer voice calls from Discord to your Xbox console, "remote features" may be disabled:^{[5]

  - Select the checkbox for "Enable remote features."

Audio problems on Discord usually have a few common causes.
- Incorrect sound output or input. If you can't hear anything in the voice chat or others cannot hear you at all, the wrong input and/or output may be set. In your Discord voice settings, select the correct microphone under "Input device," and the correct speaker/sound device under "Output device" and adjust the volume sliders as needed.^{[8]

- Noise suppression is off. If others can hear you a little bit but not well, or you're having trouble hearing others clearly, try enabling noise suppression in your Discord voice channel under Parties & chats > Options > Noise suppression.
