How to Check Your YouTube Channel's Copyright Status: Complete Guide

If you upload a video to YouTube that contains content from one of YouTube's content partners, you'll receive a Content ID claim. This won't affect your account status or remove the video. However, if a copyright owner files a takedown request, your account will receive a copyright strike for 90 days and the video will be removed. If it's your first copyright strike, you'll be required to complete Copyright School.^{[1]

Click your Your Videos. It's in the menu bar to the left. This displays a list of your videos in YouTube Studio.
- Alternatively, you can click your profile icon in the upper-right corner and then click YouTube Studio. If your YouTube account has any copyright strikes or Content ID claims, they will be displayed in a window in the upper-left corner.
- To see a list of all your videos in YouTube Studio, click Content in the menu bar to the left.^{[3]

Yes; in the USA, under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, if a copyright owner claims that the works you posted infringe a copyright and requesting the online publisher to remove it, you may object to the claim by filing a copyright notice. The copyright owners may then sue you to prevent YouTube from re-enabling the work online.

Question

I had 4 copyright strikes but am still complying with the requirements of YouTube. When I check the copyright status of my channel, it said that there that I have no copyright strikes. How can this be possible?

It is possible when more than six months pass and your channel hasn’t been deleted. Once it’s been six months, the strikes disappear from your channel’s statistics.
