Are you trying to change your Xbox password? Your Xbox account is technically the same as your Microsoft account, so if you change your Microsoft account password, your Xbox password will change, too. You can change this password online on Microsoft's Security site or directly on the Xbox 360. The Xbox One and Xbox X/S can't change the password on the console.

Ways to Change Your Xbox Password

Your Xbox password is the same as your Microsoft account password. You can change this password online on Microsoft's Security page, or you can change it in your Xbox 360 settings. You cannot change your Xbox password via the Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Sign in to your Microsoft account on the Microsoft Security page. You may be asked to complete identity verification via email or phone number when signing in.
Your Xbox password and Microsoft account password are the same.

You can't change your Microsoft password on the Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S.
You can do this by scrolling to the right to find the Settings option.
You'll need to scroll right to highlight Your Information.
This will bring you to the screen where you can update your Microsoft account password.
You'll need to enter your current password, and your new password twice.
If you want to save the password to use with other Microsoft services, select Yes when prompted.
