If you have a Facebook friend request you regret sending, or if you have a few from strangers you don't want to add, you can easily undo it. You'll just need to head into your Friends settings. Here's how to cancel a friend request on Facebook using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.

Tap ☰.
Tap Friends.
Tap Friend requests.
Tap •••.
Tap View sent requests.
Tap Undo or CANCEL.

Open the Facebook app. It's a blue app with a white f.
- If you're not automatically logged in, enter your email address and password to do so now.
This is in the lower-right corner (iOS) or top-right corner (Android).

This is at the top-right corner of the screen.
You can find this at the bottom.

Tap Undo (iPhone) or CANCEL (Android). This will be to the person you sent the request to.
- The friend request will be canceled.

Delete a friend request (optional). If you want to delete a friend request that was sent to you instead, do the following:
- Tap ☰.
- Tap Friends.
- Tap Delete next to the request.
- If you get a lot of unwanted requests from the same person, you can also block them.

Go to https://www.facebook.com in a web browser. If you're not already logged in, enter your email address and password to do so now.
This is the Friends tab. You can find this at the top of your feed.
You can find this in the left panel.
This will be underneath the Friend Requests header.

Click on Cancel Request. You'll see this next to the person you sent the request to.

Delete a friend request (optional). If you want to delete a friend request that was sent to you instead, do the following:
- Click the two-person icon on your home page.
- Click Friend Requests.

They can, if they check your page and see that the "Friend Request Sent" has changed back to "Add Friend." However, you can block the person if you want to avoid this.

Will the notification be retracted when I cancel a friend request?

If you cancel someone's friend request or decline it, they cannot tell that you canceled the friend request until they either go to your page and it says to add friend or until they go to their friends list and see that you are not on it.
